DR ORJI UZOR KALU PAID WORKERS' SALARY, PENSIONS AND GRATUITIES AS A GOVERNOR.

DR ORJI UZOR KALU PAID WORKERS' SALARY, PENSIONS AND GRATUITIES AS A GOVERNOR.
Orji Uzor Kalu was the highly visible Governor in the South East in his own time. His special leadership abilities and charismatic personality were readily apparent.

Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu deserves our respect, support and votes all the time.

When he assumed office  as the executive governor of Abia State, workers’ morale was very low, due to unpaid salaries, with pensions and gratuities of retired workers running into several years in arrears. Wait, did I tell you that he inherited about N8 billion debt accumulated by past regimes, comprising arrears of salaries, pensions and gratuities  and other matters relating to the administration of government which made it look so tough for any incoming governor to govern smoothly. However, as a leader who understands the enormous task ahead, he was so passionate to build and transform Abia state.  There was rot and chaos in the state as per unpaid workers' salary  and there was an urgent need to make things run smoothly.

As a strategic thinker and planner, the first thing he did as he assumed office was to clear some months salary arrears owed the workers by the previous administration in less than two months in office and then established a system that ensured that workers got their entitlements every 25th of the month which some of you reading this can attest to. The workers became happy and their morale went high .After he had achieved the plan for regular payment of salaries he then decided to look into pensions and gratuities. Dr. Kalu was not deterred by the many years of arrears owed. He started somewhere, hoping to settle a reasonable percentage of the arrears before the expiration of his tenure. And so, it wasn't a surprise to many that by the end of his administration, only a few percentage of persons were yet to receive their gratuities.

Please how many cows will one kill before one answers ' OGBU EFI'?

I could remember some time last year, an elderly man from my town, Umunneochi LGA  overheard me discussing  OUK's good work as a senator, he called me close and said,...

'My daughter, I always ask God to bless Dr Orji Kalu as it was during his tenure that my gratuity was paid and my kids who were dropped out of school were able to finish up their  education'.

I was touched and at same time happy to hear that.

As a public servant, you can never satisfy everyone and that is why everyone can NEVER be satisfied or be grateful for your good work.

I am still on the  things OUK did as a governor. I have not started talking about his achievements as a senator.

Just follow up..
May God bless Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.
