The Don Lulu Foundation has empowered Abians with Point Of Sale (POS) machines.



During the handover ceremony to the beneficiaries today Wednesday 24th August,2022 at the country home of the founder and Chairman of the Foundation,Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) at Umuawa -Aloacha, Ohuhu,Abia state,the Chairman of the Foundation who was represented by his mother Mrs Peace Igbokwe admonished the beneficiaries to put the device into productive use .


Mrs Igbokwe stated that the Don Lulu Foundation is aware of the prevailing economic hardship and unemployment in the country. She said it is in a bid to cushion to the negative effect of this hardship  that the Foundation has came up with this programme  to help give Abians  a source of livelihood.


She called on the beneficiaries not to collect the device just for the fun of it ,but ensure they put it to productive  use. 


Mrs Igbokwe also prayed for the beneficiaries to go and succeed ,and also asked God to bless the businesses of each of them.


Another speaker at the event Hon.Okechi Utah,the Director -General of Ekweremekwe Political Organization appreciated the chairman of the foundation Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) for his immense love for humanity. He used the medium to call on the beneficiaries to reciprocate the love Mayor Igbokwe has shown them by putting the machine to good use.


The Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Humanitarian Affairs,NGOs and Social Development Dr. Francis Origa  whose office partnered with the Foundation to carryout the empowerment program showered encomium on Mayor Igbokwe for his Humanitarian disposition through his Foundation  especially to Abians . 


He also called on the beneficiaries not to dump the device at home . Dr Origa  disclosed to the beneficiaries that  his office and the Financial technology company powering the device will be monitoring transactions on each of the device  and those who are active and consistently transacting with the device will be eligible for loan , depending on the volume of transaction they do.


Recall,that the Don Lulu Foundation earlier in July this year  empowered 61  Abians with POS device  and today a total of  49 individuals were empowered in the second phase of the Program.
