GROUP CALLS FOR MINISTER'S (Sadiya Farouq) SACK.
The National leader of the Coalition of Epie Atissa Leaders, (CEAL) HRH. SIR OVIE OMELEH KSP. JP. Is calling on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, to immediately sack the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq.
This call comes in direct reaction of the "very insensitive response of the Minister of the Plight of the people of Bayelsa with a cheeky smirk on her face."
The Minister at a Press Briefing said..... Bayelsa in NOT EVEN on the Top Ten of the Most affected states.
The Royal Father queried the attitude and insensitivity of the Minister and a mother to use figures in describing the Extent of affected people in such a demeaning manner.
The minister had commented while reacting to elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark’s call for the federal government to act and save the Niger Delta from the flood disaster at the weekly ministerial briefing on Thursday.
"With so many lives lost, ALL FARMS submerged and most homes uninhabitable; It is very Obvious that she has Misrepresented the position of Mr. President on his concern for the plight of Bayelsans and should be relieved of her duties immediately." He noted.
The National Leader commended His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, his team and all well meaning Nigerians including Dr. Eruani and Prof. Steve Azaiki who have been on the forefront of campaigning and ammiliotlrating the sufferings of the people.
Instead of sending soothing and comforting words to a state which contributes so much more than her own state to the National coffers, She, instead, named Jigawa as the most flood-ravaged state in the country.
she dares to undermine our collective sensibilities. It is a conduct that must not be tolerated.
The Group's (CEAL) Leader still calls on well meaning Nigerians to support the affected victims.
