Inec Approvese New political party called NEW NIGERIA CONGRESS.
*AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE NEW NIGERIA CONGRESS*
The following shall be the aims and objectives of the NEW NIGERIA CONGRESS.
The party shall strive to:
1. Enthrone Leadership in all strata of our National Life based on an unimpeachab CHARACTER, a demonstrable CAPACITY and a track record of COMPETENCE
2. Promote sustainable development through the provision of good governance, sound education, basic health care, food security, rapid industrial growth, adequate housing, full employment and the improvement of infrastructure and basic services;
3. Promote federalism and an equitable revenue sharing formula;
4. Promote the security of life and property, and enhance family, community and national values;
5. Promote self – respect, self – reliance and human dignity;
6. Uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as one united indivisible political entity;
7. Promote national integration and the peaceful co-existence of the divers ethnicities of our country;
8. Promote the rule of law and an egalitarian society founded on freedom, equality and justice.
9. Uphold the independence of the judiciary and the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria;
10. Promote learning and research in science and technology and the arts;
11. Assist in the just resolution of local, national and international disputes;
12. Support the struggle for the rights of children and the physically challenged; and
13. Advance the political, social, educational and economical growth of the nation and her citizenry both home and abroad and act as the channel of communication between them, the government and other political parties or associations.
*The Party shall pursue these objectives by:*
a. Ensuring that capacity, competence and character are given priority over ethnicity, religion and money politics.
b. Ensuring that the programmes of the Party as contained in its manifesto conform with the fundamental objectives and principles of State Policy and are strictly followed.
c. Promoting mutual respect for and understanding of the religious and cultural diversities of Nigeria;
d. Adhering to the policy of the rotation and zoning of party positions and public elective offices in pursuance of the principle of equity, justice and fairness;
e. Striving towards leadership development and training of the young population of Nigeria
f. Co-operating with similar nationalist movements and organizations working for the eradication of poverty, imperialism, neo-colonialism and racism;
g. Undertaking such other activities as in the opinion of the Party, which will promote the attainment of the stated aims and objectives of the Party.
