NADU DECAMPS TO PDP
The former youth leader of Okpoama Kingdom in Brass Council Area, Nadu Okenema has dump the All Progressive Party, APC for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Nadu was received into the PDP by former State Deputy Chairman, Chief Nyanayo Turbo in a ceremony held in Yenagoa.
The youth leader Nadu Okenema came in the company of his supporters notably amongst them were Engr. Olali Alex, Ikisa. A. Ikisa, Kenneth Whoknows, Sunday Albert, Odibo Moses and Sylvanus Tonbara.
Nadu Okenema stated that he was formerly a member of the PDP before his search for greener pastures and a better bargain for his people drove him to join the APC as at the time, but during his stay at the APC he realized that the supposedly greener pastures was all make believe. He also stated that been widely travelled both within and outside the state, he has personally come to appreciate the developmental efforts of the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri. Especially in the area of infrastructure. Some of the projects mentioned includes the Glory land Drive, and the Nembe-Brass Road.
Odibo Moses highlighted the importance of the Nembe-Brass Road to the indigenous people of Brass. While Engr. Olali Alex expressed his happiness to be part of a progressive people.
Addressing the Decampees, Chief Nyananyo Turbo, Stated that people should support leaders based on their performance. He also mentioned that the Douye Diri lead Administrator is an Okpoama Kingdom friendly government which it has demonstrated in the appointment of Okpoama Sons and Daughters into positions of Authority as well of other people friendly projects like renovation of School buildings and the likes.
Barr. Austin Adigio also stated that politics should be geared towards development not towards amassing wealth and that the theory that Brass is an APC stronghold is false.
Other speakers at the event were the PDP Ward 4 Party Chairman Tari Daneke who welcomed and encouraged all decampees to take active part in the Parties activities, as the PDP is one Big family where member segregation hasn't been witnessed.
The event was brought to close as PDP Membership cards were given to the new members.
Dignitaries that Graced the Occasion includes the PDP Brass LGA Chairman, Daniel Baratuipre, Belemote Watson, Hon Aboye Odibikuma, Barr. Mrs Ayo Bob etc.
