EPIE ATISSA LEADERS OF THOUGHT CONGRATULATE GOV. DOUYE DIRI.
The people of Epie Atissa have been commended for sticking by and voting for His Excellency. Senator Douye Diri, on his reelection, bid for a second term. The commendation came when a mammout crowd of PDP supporters in jubilation visited the chairman of the group, Senator Paulker Emmanuel. (CON)
Present also was the Vice Chairman, Prof. Steve Azaiki OON, the vice chairman of the group; who joined dancing with the jubilant crowd.
While addressing newsmen later, Prof. Steve said that this victory is an affirmation of the people's confidence in the governor and appreciation of his achievements in the area of infrastructure, education, training, empowerment, and security.
11th of November 2023 is a date that the people of Bayelsa won't forget anytime soon. The people, he added, took their destiny in their own hands.
The group through Prof. Steve Azaiki appreciated the women and youths. Men, and especially the traditional rulers who stood by the governor and endorsed his candidacy.
In such a stiff contested election and with the tension in the air, there was the expectation of violence and casualties; however, the People of Epie Atissa recorded very minimal casualties, though unfortunate.
To the question of the group's expectation, the former lawmaker said the governor is on course and will deliver on his promise to Bayelsans and the people of Epie-Atissa in particular.
His Excellency had asked about our needs, and most have been submitted to the governor. However, the key areas of interest are electrification of the community and connecting roads. A separation of the local government authority and having one each. The same applies to the appointment of commissioners.
These have been presented to him already.
Our responsibility is to work with him to ensure that he does even better on his second term.
