The Deputy Governor called on all aggrieved persons to sheath their sword and forget the past in other to embrace peace which will bring about growth and development to the community.
Recall that in furtherance to government’s resolution to restore peace in the community, the State Government had on the 15th of March 2024 constituted a committee for the selection and installation of Ezieogo and Nnaka IV of Okon- Aku community. The composition of the committee includes; All Past ODU President General, all current (serving) Branch Presidents, Leader of Women (Eze Nkwa Ndinyom) and Youth Leaders respectively. The committee is chaired by Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers)

The State Government mandates the committee to carry out this assignment within the period of 3 months.
The constitution of the committee is sequel to the death of Nnaka 111 of Okon-aku Autonomous Community, resignation of the Ezeogo of Okon-aku Autonomous Community and current absence of the President General of Okon-aku Autonomous Community, in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State. These vacant leadership positions has continually fanned the ambers of discord and disunity in the community.
The Deputy Governor charged the members of the committee to be fair, transparent, unbiased and just as they discharge their responsibilities. He urged other community leaders to give them the necessary support and collaboration they need to carry out this historic assignment.
Prince Emeka Kalu in his speech thanked the Executive Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR for his love, compassion and concern for Okon-Aku Community, hence his intervention to resolve every problem which has bedeviled the community. He pledged the committee’s commitment to discharge their duty without fear or favor.
