*Governor Otti Inaugurates Council on Ease of Doing Business in Abia State*
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has inaugurated the Abia State Council on the Ease of Doing Business, with the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, as Chairman .
The council aims to:
- *Sustain gains*: Sustain the gains recorded on the ease of doing business in the state
- *Seamless business*: Make business seamless in the state
- *Accelerate economic development*: Accelerate the economic development of the state

- *Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice*: Bar. Ikechukwu Uwana
- *Hon. Commissioner for Digital Economy*: Dr. Max Ekwuruibe
- *Hon. Commissioner for Power and Utility*: Engr. Ikechukwu Monday
- *Hon. Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry*: Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu
- *Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Planning*: Mr. Kingsley Anosike
- *Hon. Commissioner for Land and Housing*: Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije
- *Hon. Commissioner for Information*: Prince Okey Kanu

*Goals and Objectives*
The council aims to make Abia State a business-friendly environment, as 80% of Abians are involved in one business or the other ¹. The primary target is to make business seamless in the state, and the council hopes to achieve a quantum leap in the state's ranking on the ease of doing business within the next year.
