*Ohafia LGA Traditional Rulers Council Endorses Mayor for Re-Election*

Ohafia, Abia State - In a show of overwhelming support, the Ohafia LGA Traditional Rulers Council has passed a vote of confidence in Mayor Chief David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, MFR, OON, Ugo'Ena Nde Abiriba, and adopted him as their consensus candidate for the upcoming election of elected chairmen.

At the council's monthly meeting held on August 13, 2024, at the newly renovated Traditional Rulers Hall, HRH Eze Igwe Ojike (MON) moved two motions: a vote of confidence in the Mayor and his adoption as the consensus candidate. The motions were seconded by HRH Eze Oscar Kalu Osonwa, who praised the Mayor's integrity and foresight.

The council members present unanimously approved the motions through a voice vote, demonstrating their appreciation for the Mayor's achievements in his seven months in office.

Mayor Bourdex addressed the council on various topics, including peace and security, budget implementation, internally generated revenue, and infrastructural development within the LGA.

The meeting was attended by notable traditional rulers, including HRH Eze Hon. (Amb) Arunsi N. Uka JP, Chairman; HRH Eze Elder Odum Amogu, Vice Chairman; and other council members.

The Mayor was accompanied by Hon. Mkpa Uka Oju, Deputy Mayor; Lady Adaku, Head of Service; and Rev. Onyema Agbai, Chief of Staff.

This endorsement solidifies Mayor Bourdex's position as the preferred candidate for the upcoming election, recognizing his accomplishments and commitment to Ohafia LGA's development.
