A police officer, Inspector Lawal Ibrahim, was found deceased in a hotel room in Abuja. He had met a woman, Maryam Abba, online three months prior and invited her to the hotel. After spending the evening and morning together, Inspector Lawal began experiencing breathing difficulties and became unresponsive.
Maryam attempted to revive him by sprinkling water on his face, but when that failed, she notified the hotel manager. The police were contacted, and upon entering the room, they found Inspector Lawal lifeless. He was later confirmed dead at Abuja Teaching Hospital.
A sex-enhancing drug, watermelon, and a phone charger were recovered from the scene. Maryam has been taken into custody pending further investigation. The police have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
