APC Chieftain and Philanthropist, Chief Preye Agama, Donates Recreational Facility to Yenaka Youths. Appreciates Dr Samuel Ogbuku for other projects.




Chief Preye Agama, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), youth leader, philanthropist, and the Ogan 1 of Yenaka in Epie Atissa, has demonstrated his commitment to community development by constructing and donating a state-of-the-art recreational facility for the youths of Yenaka.
The facility was officially commissioned on January 17, 2025, by the Paramount Ruler of Yenaka, His Royal Highness Sir Ovie Owen Omeleh, KSP, JP. The grand event was attended by the Council of Chiefs, community elders, women, men, and other dignitaries, who turned out in large numbers to witness the landmark achievement.
In his speech, HRH Sir Ovie Owen Omeleh expressed immense gratitude to Chief Preye Agama for his foresight and generosity, describing the project as a vital step toward improving the physical and mental well-being of the community. “This facility will enhance physical fitness, reduce cardiovascular risks, and foster unity among our youths. We commission it today for the good of the community and to the glory of God,” he remarked.
While addressing the gathering, Chief Preye Agama reaffirmed his dedication to the advancement of Yenaka, emphasizing that the recreational facility is part of a larger vision to elevate the community’s standard of living. He outlined other ongoing initiatives supported through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), including the installation of solar-powered streetlights, a solar water project, and a youth corpers’ lodge. Finally, he appreciated the paramount ruler of the community for immediately approving land for the project for free.
Chief Agama also acknowledged the exceptional leadership of the NDDC Managing Director, Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, applauding his unwavering commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region. He described Dr. Ogbuku’s efforts as “unprecedented” and credited his support as instrumental in facilitating these projects.
The commissioning was done as a precursor to the annual thanksgiving celebration of the community, where Chief Preye Agama unveiled the community’s new year’s calendar for 2025. The calendar depicted photographs of some notable personalities who have impacted on the development of the community, such as the former president of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan GCFR, Senator Douye Diri, CON. Senator Paulker Emmanuel CON. Prof. Steve Azaiki OON. Chief Oforji Oboku, Hon. Alfred Egba a former Assembly member and presently with the Federal Revenue and allocation Commission among others. The celebration at the community’s town hall was packed with people as they sang and danced in giving thanks to God for all He has done in the preceding year.

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt prayers from community elders, who blessed Chief Agama, wishing him continued strength, wisdom, and resources to achieve even greater milestones for Yenaka.
