NDLEA, ABIA STATE COMMAND ENGAGES IN A "WAR AGAINST DRUG ABUSE" (WADA) SENSITISATION TOUR IN OHAFIA LGA.

The visit of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Abia State Command, Ohafia LGA Chapter, to the office of the Executive Mayor, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, was a significant event aimed at promoting awareness and collaboration in the fight against drug abuse.

During the meeting, the leader of the NDLEA delegation commended Chief Kalu for his remarkable achievements since assuming office, demonstrating the Mayor's commitment to the well-being and development of Ohafia LGA. This acknowledgement underscores the importance of effective leadership in addressing social issues like drug abuse.

The sensitization visit highlights the need for collective action in combating drug abuse, which poses significant threats to individuals, families, and communities. By engaging local government authorities, the NDLEA seeks to strengthen partnerships and mobilize support for initiatives aimed at preventing and controlling substance abuse.

Key aspects of the visit and the war against drug abuse include:

- Raising Awareness: Educating the public about the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on individuals and society.
- Community Engagement: Fostering partnerships between law enforcement agencies, local government, and community groups to prevent and address substance abuse.
- Supporting Rehabilitation: Providing access to rehabilitation services and support for individuals affected by drug abuse.
- Enforcing Drug Laws: Strengthening law enforcement efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes.

The collaboration between the NDLEA and the Ohafia LGA government demonstrates a commitment to addressing the complex issues surrounding drug abuse. By working together, they can develop effective strategies to prevent substance abuse, support those affected, and promote a safer, healthier community.
