Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara inaugurate new commissioners

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the era of disorder and disregard for public service rules in the Rivers State House of Assembly Service Commission is over.

The Governor issued this strong warning after swearing in the Chairman and members of the Commission at the Executive Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt, on Friday.

Governor Fubara emphasized that the newly inaugurated team must prioritize productivity, professionalism, and best practices in legislative service.

The Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA) Service Commission is now headed by Hon. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, with Dr. Kennedy Ebeku, Hon. Soberekon Clark, Hon. Jones Nwene Ogbonda, and Hon. Kingston Sylvanus as members.

For the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. GoodLife Ben takes charge as Chairman, joined by Chief Emmanuel G. Jaja, Ms. Betty Warmate, Barr. Jerome Chimenem, Hon. Prince O. Ohochukwu, Barr. Philip Okparaji, and Christian Amadi as members.

Governor Fubara tasked the appointees with ensuring strict discipline among parliamentary staff, saying that public service is not a place for complacency but for excellence.

Additionally, the Governor inaugurated the Rivers State Waste Management Agency Board, with Hon. Orukwem Amadi Oparaeli as the Managing Director and Chief Engr Edward Namiesimagha as Chairman.

With this bold move, Rivers State is set for a more efficient and accountable legislative, local government, and environmental management system.
